Where is the logic of an atheist attacking Christianity?

I do not understand why an atheist would seek to attempt to destroy another mans religion.

Logically, if there is no God, then why does it matter what anyone thinks, why does it matter if some-one believes in God or not, and what would interest an atheist in trying to change somebody else's opinion?

If there is no God, what the man believes in his heart about God does not matter.

Why bother trying to change his mind?

Yet, evolution and atheism is aggressively taught and proselytised.  Is it because atheists feel insecure with their own opinions?  Could they feel threatened?

If I were an atheist, I would seek as much pleasure from this life as possible, including Love, as this is the greatest pleasure of them all, and I would seek to live at peace with those around me, seeking to avoid the fighting and conflicts which selfishness and pride produce. I would want anything that promotes love and selflessness to flourish. Ironically, that would definitely include genuine Christianity.

Some claim Christianity produces war and conflict. But Love does not produce Wars, and Christians believe that God is Love.  As an atheist, I would be very happy with lots of people believing that Love, not selfishness and pride were the best way to live, as that would reduce the risk of crime and war. As most of the evil on this planet is induced by man’s selfishness and greed, or could be treated by the rich being more generous and the corrupt being satisfied with what they have, if I were an atheist, I would want more Christians, not less.  And genuine Christians have proved remarkably resilient in resisting evil, and in being generous over the centuries.  Fake Christians whose selfishness and greed including military aggression (remember Jesus Christ models Love not war) demonstrate by their actions their insincerity with regard to the words of Christ, revealing their true immoral character, and Jesus Christ himself disowns them. The only justification for war would be as a mechanism of self-defence, or, as a means of rescuing a weak neighbour from injustice.
Ironically, Atheist’s best interests are served by having strong Christians fight for freedom of thought (hence religion), except where violence and loss of free speech is preached.

Why do some Atheists want abolition of freedom of speech when it comes to thoughts about God? It is totally against their interests.

So what is behind all this aggressive atheist evangelism?  Could it be that there is a dark pleasure or motive in destroying somebody else's faith?

Can atheism produce happiness, peace, love, joy in a man's heart?

Can atheism remove bitterness, selfishness, unforgiveness, fear, guilt, or any other unpleasant emotional states?  Do drug addicts claim that atheism saves them from their drugs?

What kind of person enjoys stealing another mans opium?  It was Karl Marx who said “religion is the opium of the masses”.  Life is hard, and there is much evil in the world, why would anyone want to take away another mans’ comfort, even if Christianity was not true.
Would you trust such a person?

I personally would not.  Yet other reason to suspect that atheism is not true, but I do respect a man’s right to believe in it, if he so desires. At least an honest atheist does think and seek the truth, always a good thing, neither is he threatened by Christianity.

The major conflict to be fought is between those who value freedom of thought, and those who seek to remove it.
